Oracle Eyes India And Cloud Technologies For Investment Opportunities And Growth

Technology giant Oracle has been eyeing India and Cloud technologies for investment opportunities and growth over the past few months, and now the company is making its move. One of Oracle’s biggest investments in India will come in the form of students. Forbes reported that Oracle CEO Safra Catz traveled to the Asian country in February to hear from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi about his Digital India incentive. While there, Catz announced a new Oracle campus in Bangaluru that will aim to train more than 500,000 local students every year. In addition to the campus, Oracle will construct nine regional incubation centers that will aid in the education process. During her time in India, Catz talked about how her company is heeding the “call to the cloud.” “Without strategic leadership, this ‘call’ could end up luring unwitting enterprises to waste resources and not get the benefits,” Catz said. On February 16, Oracle unveiled its new PartnerNetwork Cloud Program, according to Channel Partners Online. The program seeks to help the companies’ technical partners move forward with the growth of their Oracle Cloud business through technical support. With the PartnerNetwork Cloud Program, Oracle partners will be able to showcase their vertical-market offerings, expertise, and success with customers with new tiers of recognition and progressive benefits. Program qualifications will be based on cloud performance metrics. A total of four tiers will be included within the program: Cloud Standard, Cloud Select, Cloud Premier and Cloud Elite.
