Healthcare Business Tech
Each year, healthcare facilities across the country produce a tremendous amount of waste in the form of unused medical devices and supplies. Much of this equipment, like gauze, surgical masks, and catheters, are thrown away despite being in perfectly usable condition and far from their expiration dates.
Healthcare waste totals approximately $765 billion per year, and a significant portion of such waste stems from discarded equipment that could be recouped with supplier credits and resale, if only healthcare facilities had better systems in place for tracking their supply chains.
